PATRIOTISM
Patriotism means love of mother
country. A patriot loves his mother land. The patriots are loved by the whole
country. Hence, patriotism is considered as a commendable quality.
Undoubtedly, patriotism is useful in
the interest of the country and the nation. The nation is strongly built upon
sacrifice of the patriots. The patriots give their money, time, energy and life
for the good of the country. A patriot thinks of his country. He wants that his
country should be great and prosperous. He wants that his country should be
ideal in every field. Therefore, patriotism is highly useful because it makes
the people to think of their country.
A country becomes stronger if the
people are patriots and love their nation. There will be national unity only if
all people equally love the nation. Though a country is small and
underdeveloped, other countries cannot look down it, if all the people are true
patriots and are ready to defend its enemies.
Hence, patriotism is a great virtue.
The true patriots love their country. They cannot tolerate any sort of external
interference in their motherland. It is said that mother and motherland are
superior even to heaven. A true patriot is completely determined to love and
respect his nation and nationality. One who lacks this virtue is indeed a
traitor. All people may not equally love the nation. They are selfish. They may
bribe the nation if opportunity is found. They are merely anti-nationals.
Everyone likes and respects patriots. Selfish people are hated everywhere. As
the mother gave us birth and brought up with her hardships, our motherland
gives us place to live and other people and things around us to interact for
our livelihood at ease. Thus, our mother and motherland equally deserve love
and respect from us.
We had great patriots in Bhimsen
thapa, Amar singh Thapa, Balabhadra kunwar, Bhakti thapa and so on. They are
always remembered for heir service to the nation.
Patriotism is no doubt a good quality.
But we should always avoid the dark side of patriotism. We should not forget
justice and fair play when we think the interest of our own country. The
country can enrich its glory and frame and strengthen nationality only if its
people are patriots.
